Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
The existence of God for me is very difficult to dispute. I marvel at his workmanship daily as I look around at all of creation. I am awestruck by all of the details that have gone into this existence we have come to know.
A few weeks ago I was talking to my youngest son about his teacher going on a rabbit trail while teaching American History. He is in the fourth grade and has given his heart to the Lord and has been baptized. His teacher went into the history of life on this 5 minute detour and talked to the kids about evolution and that we are descendants of apes...
Well, my first response was to say to myself, I am going to meet with him and let him know that he needs to offer an alternate perspective... mine. Well, as my son continued on with his story he shared that when some of the kids met up on the playground later, they had an opportunity to discuss this whole evolution thing. Five fourth grader's who come from Christian backgrounds were able to come together and talk about God. That helped to solidify my suspicion that God does His handy work even with our children. They knew the truth, and no matter how much their teacher was going to tell them about his opinions of the birth of our existence, they knew better.
After this demonstration to me of God's hand working through our kids, I understand the importance of training up our children so that when they are confronted with alternative stories of our existence they are able to come out boldly and say... I don't think so mister fourth grade teacher.
